Ad hoc monitoring; monitoring only if you and or your principal need and request it! Therefore, no unnecessary control room costs if your truck and/or trailer are not on the road or if you do not transport valuable and/or at-risk cargo. You just send the url of your GPS Tracking & Tracing system, including the login information and we will take the necessary action. Another option is the use of a remote desktop connection.

Passive monitoring I

Passive monitoring means that the GPS vehicle tracking systems have a permanent connection with the control room. The control room does not take any action such as establishing location, contacting the driver, monitoring of the itinerary etc. We do test daily if the GPS vehicle tracking system concerned is still connected to the control room, so that we can quickly intervene if the need arises.

In case of an incident or upon request of the customer, we can start to actively monitor the vehicle concerned and take actions such as contacting the driver/planning department/security officers of the customer and, if necessary, arrange for emergency response (national and international). Our PAC/SOC has an extensive network of autonomous licensed control rooms and private security organizations all across Europe, who can assure local or national emergency response.

A passive monitoring arrangement is a kind of “sleeper” connection, which is activated only if this is required or desired. Based on an annual contract, we can offer this service from as low as 0.14 Euros per day. In case other services and/or emergency response are provided, we charge 1 Euro per minute for the time our control room staff work on the incident response.

If you choose permanent monitoring, you pay a fixed annual rate of 99 Euros, including unlimited national and international emergency response.

Active monitoring I

Active monitoring I means that we check the connected GPS systems of the customer once per hour for status, position and possibly itinerary. We do not contact the driver by telephone!

In case of an anomaly, like for example a different route, a parking area not previously agreed upon, an unforeseen stop etc. we immediately contact the driver/planning department concerned, or the driver/planning department immediately contacts us (either by telephone or for example via the panic button etc.).

This means it is important that the control room receives accurate information about the itinerary, the vehicle, drivers etc. (TAPA TSR-guidelines).

Active monitoring II

Active monitoring II means that we actively check once per hour transports that we have received a monitoring assignment for. We contact the driver once per hour by telephone and we check the position/status of the GPS vehicle tracking system according to the procedures and the information the driver supplies us with. We contact the driver and ask him for information regarding the status, position, any particularities (where he is going to stop, in what time frame, when he expects to arrive at the destination etc.), so that we know how the transport is progressing and we can assure its optimum safety/security.

In case of an anomaly or an incident, we take care of any (international) incident response.

One of the requirements resulting from the PAC/SOC license we obtained from the Dutch Ministry of Justice is the digital recording and storage of all telephone calls. Furthermore, our telephone switchboard and reporting software can generate and print a variety of reports to document what action we have taken, who we have contacted by telephone, when, for how long etc. This means that you do not just get a bill for 35 Euros or 35 minutes, but a comprehensive account of what we have done, including the total time we have spent on the follow-up. Often this information is essential for your insurance company and/or the police services concerned.
